Urban Retreat in the Heart of Athens

A fabulous place to stay in Athens Positive: An excellent location in Athens. In a very happening place where restaurants with every cuisine, bars and shopping are within 5 minutes radius. And yet the apartment is ultra quiet and well appointed. There is full kitchen, washer-dryer and AC in every room. We walked about 20 minutes to get to the entrance of Acropolis and that path leads right through the old town's best street. The hotel next door has a rooftop bar with a view of Acropolis. Book it for drinks before sunset. Dinner there is expensive, but good in case it interests you. The parliament is about 7 minutes walk. And if you wish to walk, you can get to most attraction in 25 minutes. Remember that traffic in Athens is bad between morning and 2 PM, and 7 PM to 9 PM. So walking and metro is faster in those hours. Finally the hosts were on top of the communication and very helpful. Getting into the apartment was easy with a lockbox. I highly recommend this place and I would stay here again. Negative: The elevator is old. It can take 2 people or 1 with 2 suitcases. Except that, everything else was great.

A great location in the heart of the city and perfect for any family vacation. Positive: Great location, great size, quiet. Negative: Small details missing. No shampoo in one bathroom, no conditioner in either. No welcome note from host with area map to understand what was where e.g. closest coffee shop and no recommendations for dining.
